Zack Powers graduated from The State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry with a B.S. in Biotechology and a minor in Chemistry in 2013. After graduation Zack worked in the Process Development/Small Scale Manufacturing department at Albany Molecular Research Incorporated (AMRI). During the summer of 2016 Zack left AMRI to join the Porco Group at Boston University. Zack is currently working on the biomimetic synthesis of Meroterpenoid natural products. Zack lives with his fiance Caroline and his dog Bentley in Boston, MA. Zack's other interests include practicing the guitar, playing chess, basketball, and hiking/camping.
