Will Gilmore grew up outside of Boston, where he attended Xaverian Brothers High School. He received his B.S from Stonehill College in 2020, where he was the recipient of the chemistry department's William C. LaPlante award for excellence in chemistry. His undergraduate research focused on the synthesis of novel, asymmetric N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) catalysts. During the summer of 2019, he was a medicinal chemistry intern at Eisai Inc. in Cambridge, MA, where he gained experience in lead optimization of small molecule drugs to treat and prevent Alzheimer's Disease. After graduating from Stonehill, Will subsequently enrolled at Boston University and began research in Dr. Porco's lab, where he's investigating the synthesis of dimeric tetrahydroxanthone natural products. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, video games, craft beer, and football.
