Andrew grew up in New York and is interested in the synthesis and activity of drug-type compounds. He decided to attend Boston University in Fall 2014 and is majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a minor in Philosophy while also pursuing a masters degree in Biotechnology, both expected in 2018. After completing John's undergraduate organic chemistry II course, Andrew began studying the synthesis of rocaglate molecules, which posses a cyclopenta[b]benzofuran core and protein translation inhibition activity. Andrew enjoys the rocaglates project because of their complex structure and synthesis as well as their interesting biological activity. In his free time, Andrew enjoys learning about drugs and medicine, trying different coffees and beers, and listening to an extensive catalog of music.
